Robert Earl’s purchase this week of sister brands Bravo and Brio restaurants, wasn’t a spontaneous buy amid a pandemic.

The founder of Planet Hollywood and chairman of Earl Enterprises said he’s admired these two brands for a couple of years as a customer and a former shareholder when the concepts were part of the publicly traded Bravo Brio Restaurant Group. 

“It was not a whim,” he said of the purchase, announced earlier this week

At one point, Earl said he “fancied” the idea of making a bid for the company before it went private in 2018.

“I've monitored very closely what's been going on at the company,” the industry veteran said.
