Topgolf promotes Genifer Gray to COO for U.S. venues

Entertainment company also names Geoff Cottrill as chief marketing officer and Kristi Maynor as chief people officer

Topgolf Entertainment Group has promoted Genifer Gray into the role of chief operating officer for U.S. venues and named executives to head marketing and human resources, the company said Monday.

The Dallas-based Topgolf promoted Gray after more than three years as vice president of operations and hired Geoff Cottrill as chief marketing officer and Kristi Maynor as chief people officer.

All three will report to Artie Starrs, who was named Topgolf’s CEO earlier this year.

"The addition of Gen, Geoff and Kristi to our leadership team will help fuel our growth and continue driving innovation across our Topgolf venue, Toptracer and Topgolf Media experiences," said Starrs in a statement.

Topgolf COO Genifer Gray 200.jpgGray joined Topgolf more than three years ago from Maggiano's Little Italy, where she served as chief operating officer. She succeeds Craig Kessler in the position. He recently announced his plans for a leadership opportunity outside of Topgolf.

"It's been a privilege to be part of Topgolf's growth journey over the past few years, fueled by our culture and our unique experience,” said Gray. “We are in a tremendous position for growth as a company and I'm honored to lead our guest experience and our incredibly talented venue teams.”

Topgolf-Geoff-Cottrill-CMO.jpgCottrill most recently served as head of marketing at Coca-Cola in North America and before that held marketing leadership positions at Converse, Starbucks, Procter & Gamble and MullenLowe.

"It has been remarkable to watch Topgolf innovate and attract new fans over the past decade, whether they are playing at a venue, at a Toptracer Range or on WGT online," Cottrill said.

Maynor most recently worked with Egon Zehnder, the global leadership advisory firm, where she was a partner and global head of its consumer practice.

Topgolf merged in March with Carlsbad, Calif.-based Callaway Golf Co., which also owns the Odyssey, OGIO, TravisMathew and Jack Wolfskin brands.
