Revenue rose, but profits fell for the second quarter 2014 at Potbelly Corp. In the second quarter ended June 29, revenue at the sandwich chain increased 7 percent to $83.6 million, rising from $78.2 million in 2013’s comparable period, while net income fell to $2 million (7 cents per share), down from $2.9 million (14 cents per share) during the same period last year.

Potbelly does not report revenue from franchise units.

The company opened eight units, seven company-owned and one franchised during the second quarter.

Result: $2 million, or 7 cents a share
% Increase: 17% (from $2.9 million, or 14 cents per share)

2Q REVENUE

Result: $83.6 million
% Increase: 7% (from $78.2 million)

2Q SAME-STORE SALES

% Decrease at corporate units: 1.6%
