Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has named Brian Wise as chief operating officer, the company announced Monday.
The Wichita, Kan.-based fast-casual brand said Wise will succeed Freddy’s co-founder Scott Redler in the COO role. The position had been open since Redler’s transition to chief experience officer in August 2021
Wise, prior to overseeing technology at the brand over the past year as senior vice president of operations, had spent 15 years with a Freddy's franchise group before joining the corporate team. As COO, he will oversee the Freddy's training team and both franchise and corporate operations.
In addition to Wise’s new role, the company said Jerry Kunz had been named vice president of finance for the brand.
"Freddy's success comes from our delicious food, dedication to guests and strong relationships with our franchisees,” said Chris Dull, president and CEO of Freddy's, in a statement.
"We are thankful that Brian will be continuing his great work with our brand as COO,” Dull said, “and that Jerry decided to join our team for this next chapter of accelerating development.”
Prior to joining Freddy’s as vice president of finance, Kunz served as director of finance and treasury for Bradenton, Fla.-based First Watch Restaurant Group Inc.
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, founded in 2002, has more than 440 locations across 36 states.
