Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has named franchise veteran Scott Shotter as chief operating officer, the company has announced.

Shotter succeeds Jessica Wescott, the former COO and chief financial officer who left Fuzzy’s in September.

“Scott is a tenured restaurant industry veteran and a highly skilled operator,” said Paul Damico, CEO of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, in a statement. “With the robust growth planned for Fuzzy’s, it is beneficial to add someone to the team with extensive experience in both franchised brands and rapid expansion. Scott’s experience matches the exact needs for the operational leadership role we were looking to fill at Fuzzy’s.”

Shotter and Damico served together between 2009 and 2016 at Moe’s Southwest Grill, where Shotter was vice president and Damico CEO.

Shotter said franchisee relationships are one of his biggest goals.

“What makes Fuzzy’s so special is that it’s a hybrid fast-casual concept with a full-bar approach,” Shotter said. “The Fuzzy’s model offers a convenient and casual experience to guests while serving delicious food that’s made from scratch in-house daily.”

Atlanta-based NRD Capital Management in 2016 acquired a majority stake in Fuzzy’s, founded in 2003 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Fuzzy’s has nearly 150 franchise- and corporate-owned locations in 17 states.
