Golden Corral, the buffet restaurant chain, is rebranding its fast-casual Homeward Kitchen to Golden Corral Favorites, the company said Monday.

The Raleigh, N.C.-based company originally debuted Homeward Kitchen in 2023. Homeward Kitchen closed on Monday. The Southern Pines, N.C., restaurant was the sole location.

“This new fast-casual concept offers a selection of the brand’s signature foods in a streamlined, quick-service format, delivering the same great flavors with added convenience,” the company said in a press release.

The 4,200-square-foot restaurant will offer a faster, more modern dining experience, the company said.

“Through the rebranding of this concept, we’re staying laser-focused on what we do best,” Lance Trenary, Golden Corral CEO, said in a statement. “We’ve learned just how much our guests love the Golden Corral brand and want the wholesome food that we serve, so we’re bringing those favorites to a fast-casual setting.”

Golden Corral Favorites will feature a selection of the most popular Golden Corral menu items. Guests can dine in or take advantage of the restaurant’s digital ordering, drive-thru, and pickup options.

Golden Corral said the crew will get additional training. Employees were notified in early January that they would be paid a temporary closure payment. A return-to-work incentive was also offered to those who return for the opening of Golden Corral Favorites.
