Whataburger is capitalizing on the regional popularity of green chiles with a systemwide Green Chile Double burger limited-time offer through Oct. 3.

Roasted green chiles are popular year-round in the Southwest, particularly in New Mexico, but especially during the fall harvest season.

After what the San Antonio, Texas-based company called an “overwhelmingly positive customer response last year during a regional launch” in Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Texas, Whataburger will introduce the Green Chile Double burger to its entire 700-unit system this year.

The Green Chile Double has two beef patties and double Monterey Jack cheese, as well as roasted green chiles.

The Green Chile Double is also available in a junior size, and can be purchased in a Whatameal with a drink and French fries.

Whataburger has units in 10 states.
