Chick-fil-A will open its fancy new drive-thru today. The restaurant is located about 30 miles south of Atlanta and features four drive-thru lanes - two for mobile order ahead customers and two for traditional drive-thru customers.

The restaurant industry has a smaller workforce than originally thought. The U.S. Labor Department on Wednesday revised its estimates for employment as part of a normal examination of its data. It revised jobs numbers downward by 0.9%, or 818,000 workers.

Eight KFC restaurants in the Peoria and Rockford, Ill., markets have abruptly closed. That’s according to local news reports and confirmed by the chain. The restaurants are owned by EYM Chicken Operations, which franchises KFC, Pizza Hut, Panera, and Denny’s locations throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.

Editor’s note: Since recording, that number has climbed to 25 restaurants closed.

Speaking of KFC, the company is testing a new “KFC Original” design, as well as new features at 16 Orlando, Florida-area restaurants. Those features include digital ordering kiosks, a kitchen display system, new employee uniforms, and menu items such as the KFC Twisters and frozen beverages.
