Trending this week: McDonald’s is rolling out its ‘best burgers ever’

McDonald’s is rolling out its ‘best burgers ever’

This week on Nation's Restaurant News the top story was McDonald’s is rolling out its ‘best burgers ever’. The company announced it is making a few changes to its burgers, including new, softer buns and more Big Mac sauce on its signature Big Macs. Some tweaks have also been made to the cooking process to yield a more consistent sear and meltier cheese, and the company is adding white onions at the grill for a caramelized flavor.

In other news, Sonic Drive-In brand president Claudia San Pedro stepped down and temporarily exiting the workforce to focus on family medical matters, parent company Inspire Brands said Wednesday, and that has resulted in shuffles of the executive suite at that restaurant as well as at sister chain Arby’s. Another Inspire Brands concept, Buffalo Wild Wings, also named a new president.

Also, the Beefy Crunch Burrito will return to Taco Bell menus beginning in early August for a limited time after emerging victorious in the brand’s latest campaign asking fans to vote for the menu item they’d like to see make a comeback. The Beefy Crunch Burrito collected more in-app votes than the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco.
