Black Angus Steakhouse has named Liz Geavaras chief marketing officer, the company said Thursday.
Geavaras was formerly vice president of marketing at Grill Concepts Inc., parent to the Daily Grill, Public School and Grill on the Alley brands.
At Black Angus, she will take over marketing responsibilities that have been handled by CEO Chris Ames, including spearheading the chain’s culinary direction, research strategy for customer campaigns, diversifying the advertising mix and expanding the digital, public relations and social media footprint, executives said.
“Liz joins our team during an exciting time for Black Angus and she will play a vital role in the growth of this iconic American steakhouse,” Ames said in a statement. “Liz brings a strong background in consumer insights and trends, industry knowledge and the leadership experience needed to drive a more integrated omni-channel marketing approach that builds loyalty for the Black Angus brand and positions the company for continued growth.”
Prior to working with Grill Concepts, Geavaras was vice president at DT Marketing. Before that, she held the role of director of marketing at Elephant Bar Restaurants.
Los Angeles-based Black Angus has 45 locations in California, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii.
