MOD Pizza is shaking up its c-suite with the promotion of Becky Mulligan from senior vice president of operations to the newly created chief restaurant officer position. Mulligan will be joined by Stephen Blum who has been appointed as the Seattle-based pizza chain’s first chief development officer.

During her year of experience at MOD Pizza, Mulligan has led the field operations and operations excellence teams for 440 company-owned stores, and now will take on the rest of MOD Pizza’s portfolio, including the remaining company stores and franchised locations. Before joining MOD, Mulligan was CEO of both Le Pain Quotidien and The Little Beet, separately, and also held leadership positions at Starbucks.

Before joining MOD, Blum held multiple leadership positions at various companies including chief development officer at Au Bon Pain, vice president of real estate at both Panera and Panda Restaurant Group, and most recently, SVP of real estate at Hertz.

Additionally, MOD Pizza announced the appointment of Cynthia Richardson as vice president of franchising after 25 years of experience at 7-Eleven, most recently where she served as senior director of global licensee functional support. Scott Uehlein joined MOD as vice president of culinary excellence and innovation from Sonic, where he served as vice president of product innovation and development. Ben Coarde was appointed to regional vice president of operations at MOD, from Starbucks where he most recently served as a regional director of 115 locations.

“As MOD continues to scale, we remain focused on our people-first mission, while delivering an incredible and consistent customer experience, centered around our craveable food,” Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO of MOD Pizza said. “We are incredibly grateful for Becky’s leadership and commitment to our purpose over the past year and we all celebrate her well-deserved promotion. I am equally excited to welcome Stephen, Cindy, Scott and Ben and to congratulate James on a well-deserved promotion. They are all industry veterans who bring decades of experience to the leadership team and who will help us continue to support our people and product as we further our growth trajectory, on and off premise.”
