Ruby Tuesday names Sue Briley interim CFO

Briley serves as company’s vice president of finance

Ruby Tuesday Inc. has named Sue Briley, the company’s vice president of finance, interim chief financial officer, the casual-dining operator said Monday.

Briley’s interim appointment at Maryville, Tenn.-based Ruby Tuesday fills a position left vacant by the April departure of CFO Jill Golder, who left to become CFO of Lebanon, Tenn.-based Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc.

Briley, who joined Ruby Tuesday as vice president of finance in July 2014, has worked in the restaurant industry for more than two decades.

“Sue’s extensive restaurant experience makes her an ideal fit to assume the CFO position on an interim basis while we search for a permanent successor,” said JJ Buettgen, Ruby Tuesday chairman, president and CEO, in a statement.

Prior to joining Ruby Tuesday, Briley was the sole proprietor of Symmetry Financial Consulting. She previously worked in finance positions at Margaritaville Enterprises and Darden Restaurants Inc.

“Her ability to take on these additional responsibilities is also reflective of the strong financial team we have in place, which is enabling us to push forward with our brand transformation strategy,” Buettgen said.

Ruby Tuesday owns and franchises 729 restaurants in 44 states and overseas. The company sold its remaining Lime Fresh Mexican Grill assets earlier this month.
