Boston Market has added a new line of summer rotisserie chicken sandwiches inspired by expanded regional flavors and summer cookouts to its permanent menu.
The four new sandwiches launched on June 1 and are part of the Golden, Colo.-based chain’s brand efforts to shake up summer sales.
The Southwest Chicken BLT and a Cobb Side Salad
The Southwest Chicken BLT will be topped with bacon, avocado, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and chipotle aioli on top of ciabatta bread; the Chicken Avocado Club will be made with bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese, lettuce, red onion and herb mayonnaise on top of ciabatta bread; the Chicken or Turkey on Ciabatta sandwich can be made with rotisserie chicken or turkey, paired with smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion and herbed mayonnaise; and the Chicken Salad sandwich is topped with sliced tomato, lettuce and mayo on a hoagie roll. All sandwiches start at $7.99.
Boston Market's new rotisserie chicken sandwiches
Boston Market, which is traditionally known for its rotisserie meats and holiday-centric sides, teased a further exploration of lighter summer-inspired fare in November.
“There’s no reason why we can’t be catering July Fourth events or Labor Day barbecues if we had a better selection of options appropriate for that time of year,” said Frances Allen, Boston Market CEO, in a Nation’s Restaurant News interview, adding that customers could look for warm-weather-inspired menu items as the summer approaches.

These new sandwiches are among the brand’s initial efforts at expanding its year-long appeal beyond its historically stronger holiday season.
In an email, Allen said, “We here at Boston Market are always looking for ways we can reach new customers and get our existing fans excited to dine with us all year long.”
Boston Market is celebrating the launch of its new menu with a “Sandwich Throwdown” event Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The event will allow guests to bring in any outside sandwich (homemade or from a competitor) and upgrade to one of the new sandwiches for free. Customers will then be able to vote for their favorite in an online survey.
According to NRN Top 200 data, Boston Market, which is owned by Sun Capital Partners Inc., had sales of $557.8 million for the fiscal year ended December 2018.
Boston Market has more than 400 locations.
