Logan’s Roadhouse Inc. has named John Laporte to the newly created position of chief information officer, the company said Thursday.

Before joining the Nashville, Tenn.-based casual-dining chain, Laporte was vice president of information technology for El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc.

Laporte will be responsible for all company strategic information technology plans and processes, and report to Sam Borgese, Logan’s Roadhouse president and CEO.

“John will be a great asset to our company, and we believe his experience and skills will help us achieve our strategic goals,” Borgese said in a statement.

Laporte has worked for more then 20 years in restaurant technology. Besides his position with El Pollo Loco, he has also worked with Grill Concepts, Catalina Restaurant Group, Del Taco and Carl Karcher Enterprises.

In the most recent Nation’s Restaurant News Top 100 census, Logan’s Roadhouse ranked No. 61, posting $711.4 million in U.S. systemwide foodservice sales for its July 2014-ended fiscal year.

Logan’s Roadhouse, a division of Kelso & Co., owns and operates 230 restaurants and franchises 26 units in 23 states.
