Piccadilly Restaurants LLC has promoted Thomas J. Sandeman to chief executive, the company said Monday.

Sandeman has served as chief financial officer of Baton Rouge, La.-based Piccadilly since 2005. Prior to Piccadilly, he served in executive posts at such brands as Ponderosa Steakhouses, Sizzler Family Steakhouses, Cucos Inc. and Wall Street Deli.

He succeeds David Green, who remains as chairman of the 90-unit cafeteria chain.

Piccadilly Restaurants last year began providing contract foodservice to schools, signing a contract with the Metairie, La., campus of the Kehoe-France School, which serves students ranging from preschool through eighth grade, for the 2011–2012 school year.

Piccadilly Restaurants, founded in 1944, has restaurants primarily in the Southeast.
