Pyro’s Fire Fresh Pizza has promoted former director of finance and administration Marty Morgan to the newly created role of chief financial officer, the company said Friday.

Morgan, who is the chain’s first CFO, joined seven-unit Pyro’s in 2014 as director of business analytics.

In his most recent position as director of finance and administration, he worked to build the fast-casual pizza chain’s personnel and technology infrastructure for growth.

Before joining the company, he served in senior management positions at Accredo, a pharmacy division of Express Scripts.

“Marty has been an integral part of the growth and success of Pyro’s, both in building and managing the corporate team, as well as providing strong leadership as we have established the foundation on which we will continue to build the Pyro’s brand,” said Kirk Cotham, the Memphis, Tenn.-based chain’s co-owner, in a statement.

Pyro’s was founded in 2013, and has four Memphis-area locations. This year, it opened units in Alabama and Mississippi, where more growth is expected.
