Palm Restaurant Group has named Karen LuKanic chief marketing officer, the company said Thursday.

For LuKanic, it’s a return to the parent of The Palm steakhouse chain. She worked for the company as a sales manager at The Palm restaurant in Los Angeles about 14 years ago.

“With our forthcoming 90th anniversary celebration and our continued brand growth and expansion, Karen is joining our team at such an important time,” said Bruce Bozzi Jr., fourth-generation family member and executive vice president of Washington, D.C.-based Palm Restaurant Group. “Karen’s extensive sales, marketing and catering experience, as well as her history with The Palm brand, are the perfect combination and addition to our family. We look forward to working with Karen to execute new and creative innovations and marketing strategies for our restaurants.”

Most recently, LuKanic was senior vice president of Richard Sandoval Restaurants and served on the company’s board. Her previous experience includes stints as corporate director of sales at Xanterra Parks & Resorts; vice president of business development at Epicurean Culinary Group; president at Farm of Beverly Hills; and vice president, catering sales at Wolfgang Puck Catering.

The Palm has been owned and operated by the Bozzi and Ganzi families since it was founded in 1926. The steakhouse chain includes about 26 locations across the country and in Mexico.
