Cheryl Henry, president and CEO, Ruth’s Hospitality Group

Known for: Cheryl Henry is only the second CEO to stand at the helm of Ruth’s Hospitality Group since it was founded in 2008 after Ruth’s Chris Steak House acquired Mitchell’s Fish Market and Columbus Fish Market. She was named to the position in August 2018 thanks to a breadth of knowledge about the brand after having been with the Winter Park, Fla.-based company for over 10 years.

Power move: After serving as the chief of staff for the mayor of Orlando, Fla., Henry moved to Ruth’s, where she has since been part of almost every operational aspect of the company. That includes human resources, information technology, culinary, beverage, brand marketing — and real estate development, where Henry already had plenty of experience through her previous work in Orlando.

What’s next: As someone intimately familiar with the Ruth’s Chris brand, Henry was tasked with her new role for her specific experience and has indicated that she will grow the brand further by using that experience to separate Ruth’s from the pack.
