Wingstop Restaurants Inc. has named Michael Mravle chief financial officer, effective immediately, the company said Tuesday.

Mravle succeeds former CFO Lance Loshelder, who has moved to the position of executive vice president of finance, a spokesperson for the Dallas-based quick-service operator said.

Mravle most recently was group vice president of financial planning and U.S. chief financial officer for Tampa, Fla.-based Bloomin’ Brands Inc., parent to Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Roy’s. His responsibilities included overall corporate planning, analysis and forecasting, as well as managing the U.S. finance team.

“We are pleased to welcome Mike, a highly regarded industry veteran with significant financial planning expertise, to our team,” said Charlie Morrison, Wingstop’s president and chief executive. “Mike has a proven track record of successful leadership within our sector and will play a critical role in positioning Wingstop for continued aggressive and sustained growth.”

Mravle said in a statement: “the brand‘s unique combination of great food and powerful unit economics has allowed Wingstop to become a true leader in the restaurant industry.”

Before joining Bloomin’ Brands, Mravle worked for eight years at McDonald’s Corp., including serving as senior finance manager for global supply chain.

Wingstop ranked No. 3 in this year’s Nation’s Restaurant News top 10 growth chains, with $540.2 million in U.S. systemwide sales, an increase of 19.8 percent from 2012.

Wingstop ended 2013 with 10 consecutive years of same-store sales growth. In the company’s May 1 franchise disclosure document, it said average unit volumes this year, based on systemwide sales last year, would be about $974,025 on a unit investment targeted at $400,000.

The company, which is owned by affiliates of Atlanta-based private-equity firm Roark Capital Group, has more than 670 restaurants in the United States as well as Indonesia, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia and Singapore.
