Pizza Hut continues to be the pizza segment leader.
The widely embraced strategies of offering price value and product variety continue to pay off for the top U.S. pizza chains.
As a group the segment’s top brands — seven made the Top 100 cut this year — have had average growth in domestic systemwide foodservice sales climb from 3.6 percent in the Preceding Year to 3.9 percent in the Latest Year.
Segment leader Pizza Hut retained its long-held top-dog position with $5.7 billion in U.S. systemwide sales and 7,756 total U.S. units, holding Domino’s Pizza — which closed out the Latest Year with sales of $3.6 billion and 4,928 domestic locations — in second place.
Little Caesars continued its brand push with $2.9 billion in sales and 3,673 U.S. units, solidifying its grip on the No. 3 spot...
