The Beverage-Snack, Chicken and Mexican segment players were the biggest winners in market share this year within the Top 100 universe.

Seven of 12 categories showed market-share growth, based on the segment’s aggregate sales as a percentage of all Top 100 sales in 2015.

Those categories that saw market-share declines, however, included LSR/Burger chains, LSR/Sandwich chains, Casual Dining and, to a lesser degree, Family Dining.

The Beverage-Snack category showed the largest gains as a segment, adding 0.5 percentage points in the Latest Year to 10.4 percent — thanks entirely to segment leader Starbucks Coffee.

Starbucks’ market share increased to 61.6 percent in the Latest Year, compared with 59.8 percent in the Preceding Year.
