LEXINGTON Ky. Fazoli’s, a 250-unit quick-service Italian concept, has named Brokaw Inc. its new agency of record.

Cleveland-based Brokaw has handled creative for such clients as Bruegger’s Bagels, vitaminwater and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. It takes over the Fazoli’s account from Nashville, Tenn.-based Bohan. Billings were not disclosed.

“We are very excited about our new partnership,” said Cathy Hull, chief marketing officer for Lexington-based Fazoli's. “Brokaw’s reputation for brand positioning and creative strategies is renowned. The agency’s strength in these areas, as well as its personality, aligns well with Fazoli’s current and emerging needs.”

Fazoli’s said Right Place Media will continue to handle media buying and digital marketing, while Brad Ritter Communications remains the chain’s public-relations firm.

Fazoli’s, which private-equity firm Sun Capital Partners acquired in 2006, has returned to growth mode this year, opening its first company-owned location since 2005 and its first franchised unit since 2006. Chief executive Carl Howard told Nation’s Restaurant News earlier this year that new “premium QSR” store prototypes in Edwardsville, Ill., and Dayton, Ohio, have had sales and traffic numbers that trend about 10-percent higher than averages for existing stores.
