The most recent mess in Washington — the shutdown, the gridlock, the exaggerated rhetoric — may seem like affairs of state only government officials or lobbyists need get wrapped up in on a daily basis. Many inner monologues probably go something like this, “Here they go again. Wake me up when it’s over or when it’s time to vote.”
But what can look like inside-the-beltway politics is really all about big business, and that is not a good thing for the restaurant industry.
