The Del Taco quick-service chain this week said it is realigning its management team as part of a larger effort to redefine its brand experience.

David Pear, formerly of Domino’s Pizza and Yum! Brands, has been named senior vice president of operations, and will head both company and franchise restaurant operations for the 530-unit chain.

Aligning company and franchise operations under a single leader “allows us to leverage best practices and ensure we are delivering the optimal customer experience at every restaurant,” said Del Taco chief executive Paul Murphy in a statement.

Del Taco also made other management changes.

Chad Gretzema has been named to the newly created role of senior vice president of operations support and engagement. Gretzema had been a consultant to Del Taco previously and will report to John Cappasola, chief brand officer.

Pete Honer, previously Del Taco’s vice president of business insight and planning, has been promoted to senior vice president of finance and will assume oversight of company real estate, market planning and asset management functions. He will report to Steve Brake, Del Taco’s chief financial officer.

Noah Chillingworth, senior director of brand marketing and advertising, has been promoted to vice president of marketing, with the expanded role of overseeing field marketing. He also reports to Cappasola.

Murphy added that Del Taco is “on an aggressive mission to redefine how potential, new and current customers view our product and service experience.

“Ultimately, it is our goal to be the No. 1 restaurant of choice in our category precisely because of our raising the bar to consistently provide both quality and value at Del Taco,” he said.

Del Taco is based in Lake Forest, Calif.
