A growing number of restaurant operators are turning to identification and data-capture technologies to protect customers from foodborne illnesses and safeguard their businesses and reputations.
Darden Restaurants Inc., Subway and DineEquity Inc. are among those companies urging suppliers to adopt GSI Standards and the GS1-128 bar code app to improve product traceability throughout the food chain. GS1 is an international not-for-profit organization that designs global standards to improve the efficiency of the supply chain.
