PACIFIC GROVE Calif. Aramark Corp. has signed a 20-year contract with California State Parks to operate Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds, a lodge, resort and conference center here.
According to an announcement by the parks department, Philadelphia-based Aramark will pay the state $1.9 million in rent annually, or 8.6 percent of the gross receipts, whichever is higher, as well as a variety of capital improvements, program support and facility maintenance fees.
The department said Aramark would manage operations that include 312 guest rooms in 30 buildings, a dining hall that serves three meals a day, a small gift shop, and meeting and conference rooms.
Before the new deal, Buffalo, N.Y.-based Delaware North Cos., held the foodservice management contract at Asilomar.
