CHICAGO Rice Garden, a 10-state chain of Asian quick-service restaurants, has been acquired by the Chicago private-equity firm Arbor Private Investment Co.

Alhambra, Calif.-based Rice Garden operates 70 units in supermarkets such as Albertson’s, Brookshire and Kroger, as well in malls, university food courts and corporate foodservice operations.

Arbor’s portfolio consists of foodservice-related investments, including suppliers and distributors. Arbor officials indicated they would continue to expand Rice Garden into new geographic markets.
