MASHANTUCKET Conn. Celebrity chef Tom Colicchio, proprietor of New York City–based Craft Restaurants, has inked a deal with the MGM Grand at Foxwoods to open a unit of his upscale Craftsteak concept when the hotel debuts next May.

The 150-seat, 9,500-square-foot restaurant will offer several cuts of Wagyu beef and an assortment of corn- and grass-fed beef, along with seasonal items sourced from small family-run farms and artisanal producers. A variety of fish and shellfish also will be available.

Colicchio already has a Craftsteak unit at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In addition to Craftsteak, the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket has signed agreements with renowned Boston-based chef Michael Schlow, who will open an outpost of his casual Italian Alta Strada restaurant, and the operators of New York City-based Junior’s, which is famous for its cheesecakes.

In addition to Craftsteak, Colicchio’s Craft Restaurants includes outposts of flagship Craft, Craftbar and ’Wichcraft.
