When Starbucks looked for a way to grab a piece of the $50 billion health-and-wellness category, the coffeehouse giant saw an open door through the niche of fresh juice.
With the 2011 purchase of premium-juice company Evolution Fresh, Starbucks plans to add bottled juices to its line of packaged products. And later this year, the Seattle-based company will debut a new juice-bar concept with the goal of reinventing the juice category in much the same way it elevated that of coffee.
