Starting at a recommended $4.99 for a short stack of two, the pancake specials include the following options.

Red Velvet: Chocolate pancakes drizzled with cream cheese icing, a dusting of powdered sugar and whipped topping.

Sweet Strawberry: Buttermilk pancakes topped with glazed strawberries and drizzled with cream cheese icing with whipped topping.

Whole Wheat With Banana: Whole wheat pancakes topped with sliced fresh bananas, a dish that is also part of the chain’s Simple & Fit under-600-calorie menu.

The new pancakes, which have been part of a summer menu that debuted in April, are available throughout participating locations within the 1,554-unit chain through Sept. 2.

Owned by Glendale, Calif.-based DineEquity Inc., IHOP in May launched a new marketing campaign that returned the chain’s focus on innovation around breakfast.

With the tagline “Everything You Love About Breakfast,” the campaign will target core items, like pancakes, omelets and stuffed French toast with the goal of building sales throughout the day, not just in the morning.

In a statement, Natalia Franco, IHOP’s senior vice president, marketing, said, “Our guests love pancakes, especially unique ones that they can’t make at home.

“We are dedicated to continually introducing twists on classic favorites and innovative new breakfast creations to make sure that IHOP is everything you love about breakfast,” she added. “We are all about choice.”
