A bankruptcy judge approved the Landry’s Inc. takeover of actress Eva Longoria’s troubled Beso restaurant in Las Vegas, late Wednesday.

Landry’s, based in Houston, Texas, has been operating Beso since Aug. 8. The restaurant and gaming company owns the Golden Nugget Casino & Hotel, Rainforest Café, Chart House restaurant and other hospitality properties in Las Vegas and nationwide.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mike Nakawaga cited feuding amongst the debtor group and the desire to keep operations running in his ruling to let Landry’s assume control.

“There are approximately 50 to 60 employees who will be terminated if all operations cease,” he said.

Crystals, the largest creditor in the case, supports the Landry’s operations deal. The MGM Resorts International-owned property is owed $3.4 million in back rent.

Beso LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January. It operated Beso and the now-closed Eve nightclub in the Vegas Strip’s Crystals at CityCenter shopping area. Beso said its operating losses since the bankruptcy filing were $669,350 through June 30, with June losses of $394,020.

Tilman Fertitta, the owner and chief executive of Landry’s, said last week that he would consider buying the property for $1 million with Longoria as a partner.
