OVERLAND PARK Kan. Pizza Hut will lay off almost 180 people when it outsources the operations of its call center here next month, according to published reports.
APizza Hut spokesman told The Kansas City Star that the center in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City, Mo., will close June 30.
Pizza Hut said it would offer severance packages to employees in management positions and job-placement help to hourly workers.
Most of the pizza chain's call center operations are already outsourced, the report said.
