With Thanksgiving officially behind us, it’s time to roll up those sleeves and get ready for the holiday season. Restaurants across the country are readying themselves for the busiest time of the year, starting with Thanksgiving and moving forward for the next six weeks.

The famous red cups at Starbucks have become a staple at this time of year and we have decided to sample one of their most-famous holiday drinks, the Peppermint Mocha, regardless of the cup. Dunkin also has a Peppermint Mocha drink this year as part of its signature seasonal beverages that we tasted.

Milkshakes are also on menus, no matter the time of year, and two chains with milkshakes on the menu – Shake Shack and Chick-fil-A – are both peppermint-themed. First, Shake Shack had a peppermint and chocolate shake with bits of peppermint candy in it while Chick-fil-A’s peppermint shake had no promise of chocolate in it.

We decided to have our senior food and beverage editor Bret Thorn sample these holiday drinks and offer his opinion on them for this seasonal edition of Menu Tracker.
