Beverages can be an important part of a restaurant’s income. Generally high-margin and low-waste, with less labor than food requires, drinks are a nice and relatively easy way to add incremental sales to checks. Additionally, seasonal and other limited-time drinks at coffeehouses and juice concepts can bring customers in for additional visits.
And that’s not all: Photogenic beverages have proven to be a hit on social media, where some influencers, as well as normal people, use their favorite drinks as a part of personal branding.
So it’s no wonder that so many new and attractive drinks with varying garnishes and textures were offered to customers in 2022.
Coffee concepts that hadn’t already introduced cold foam — aerated skim milk, sometimes sweetened or otherwise flavored, that’s spooned on top of drinks for flavor and texture contrasts — did so in the past year. There also were new tea and lemonade variations, and cocktails for every season.
Take a look at some of the drinks that were introduced over the past year.
