HUNTINGTON BEACH Calif. BJ’s Restaurants Inc. on Wednesday rolled out a value-oriented lunch specials menu with 10 items starting at $5.95.

The new items include a mini one-topping pizza with salad; fish or shrimp tacos; fettuccini Alfredo; sliders with fries; a half sandwich and soup or salad; lunch-sized specialty salads; unlimited soup and salad; a half stuffed potato and soup or salad; chicken tenders with fries; and crispy thin-crust appetizer pizzas.

Several operators in the struggling casual-dining sector, such as Applebee's and Chili's, recently have used value promotions to drive lunchtime sales.

BJ’s owns and operates 78 casual-dining restaurants in 13 states.
