SAN DIEGO George Katakalidis, the founder of the fast-casual Daphne’s Greek Cafe chain based here, on Tuesday announced plans to open an upscale “chic Greek” restaurant in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter in December.
To be called EXY, the restaurant and lounge will offer high-end Greek cuisine with premium cocktails and an extensive wine collection.
Katakalidis founded Daphne's in 1991. The San Diego-based chain now has 78 units in three Western states.
