Darden Restaurants Inc., parent to Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse and other casual-dining brands, saw sales accelerate in the fourth quarter ended May 30 from third quarter, when many of its restaurants remained under pandemic restrictions, executives said Thursday.
The fourth quarter also provided more evidence that the off-premises sales trends in casual-dining were likely to stick, said Gene Lee, CEO and chairman of the Orlando, Fla.-based casual-dining company. “We have begun to see demand come back at strong levels,” he said.
