With virtual brand Tender Shack and quick-service Aussie Grill, casual-dining company broadens offerings for customer convenience
Bloomin’ Brands Inc., the parent to Outback Steakhouse and other casual-dining brands, has taken long strides this year to becoming a multi-channel company, expanding its formats to quick service, virtual brands and delivery.
“First and foremost, we’re a dine-in restaurant company,” said Dave Deno, Bloomin’ Brands CEO, in an interview Friday after releasing third-quarter earnings. “That’s our bread and butter.”
But especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Deno added, “we’ve learned that carry-out and delivery are a lot of what we do, and convenience is so important.”
