Buffet Partners LP, parent to the Furr’s Fresh Buffet brand, has named Barry M. Barron, Sr., chief executive officer.

Barron succeeds Greg Buchanan, who resigned in May, a spokesman for the Plano, Texas-based company said. Barron most recently was chief executive of Dallas-based Red Mango, a position he left last August.

At Buffet Partners, Barron is responsible for overall business strategy, as well as serving on the company’s board.

“Barron holds a great depth of experience in the restaurant industry. His leadership during the growth stages of several internationally recognized companies will be extremely valuable to us,” Buffet Partners chairman Ray Hemmig said in a statement.
