Thomas Keller plans to open a second location of the Bouchon Bakery concept in New York, his restaurant group said Wednesday.

The 4,000-square-foot restaurant, which will serve traditional French bakery items as well as soups, salads and sandwiches, is expected to open next spring in Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan, according to The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group

Sebastien Rouxel, executive pastry chef for the restaurant group, will oversee the new bakery’s pastry menu, while Tiffany Jones, chef de cuisine at Bouchon Bakery in New York’s Time Warner Center, will be in charge of its savory foods.

The restaurant, which is being designed by Adam Tihany, will offer restaurant seating as well as a retail and takeout area.

The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group also operates Bouchon Bakeries in Yountville, Calif., and Las Vegas. In addition, Keller's portfolio includes Bouchon bistros in Yountville, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, as well as fine-dining restaurants The French Laundry and Ad Hoc in Yountville and Per Se in New York.
