Denny’s names new chief people, chief brand officers

Monigo Saygbay-Hallie and Patty Trevino appointed to new posts and will start in August

Denny’s Corp. has named Monigo Saygbay-Hallie as chief people officer, effective Aug. 5, and Patty Trevino as chief brand officer, effective Aug. 12, the company said Tuesday.

The Spartanburg, S.C.-based family dining company, which also owns the Keke’s Breakfast Café brand, said Saygbay-Hallie most recently served as chief people officer at Checkers & Rally’s Drive-In restaurants. Before Checkers, she served in human resources leadership roles at Sysco Corp. and YUM Brands.

Denny’s said Trevino most recently served as chief marketing officer at Red Lobster. She has also held marketing leadership roles at Carl’s Jr., Outback Steakhouse parent Bloomin’ Brands, and Burger King. Trevino will focuse on Denny’s restaurants, overseeing branding strategy, public relations, social and digital marketing, consumer experience, and product innovation.

“Being part of this stellar team, strengthening our guests' value proposition, delivering craveable food, and enhancing brand love and affinity will be a true honor,” Trevino said.

As of March 27, Denny's had 1,553 restaurants, 1,489 of which were franchised and licensed restaurants and 64 of which were company operated. That included 168 restaurants in Canada, Costa Rica, Curacao, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
