MIAMI Burger King Corp. on Monday said it had promoted Asia Pacific division president Peter Tan to corporate executive vice president, from senior vice president.

Burger King said Tan has spearheaded a 35-percent regionwide boost in sales over the past seven quarters, including results from Hong Kong, mainland China, Australia and such new markets as Japan and Indonesia.

Tan, who is based in Singapore, joined Burger King in 2006. He previously was president of McDonald's Corp.'s 1,250-unit Greater China division.
