Chipotle has partnered with cosmetics brand Wonderskin to create a “guac proof lip stain” called “Lipotle” in celebration of National Avocado Day, July 31. The product, created exclusively for Chipotle, is available starting July 30 at noon in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom on wonderskin.com and eu.wonderskin.com.

Lipotle features a custom, peelable, green colorway and new nude-pink stain that is smudge-proof. Users apply the lip stain masque like a lip gloss and let it set for about 30 seconds to a minute. They then spray the Wonder blading activator to seal in the pigments. The full kit retails for $29.

The companies noted in a release that the Lipotle launch is inspired by the popularity of “mukbangs” on social media, where users record themselves eating while interacting with the audience.

“With the popularity of ‘mukbangs’ on social media, we noticed our fans are in need of a smudge-proof lip stain to enjoy their Chipotle on-the-go,” Chipotle’s vice president of brand marketing Stephanie Perdue said in a statement. “We teamed up with Wonderskin to create the most iconic guac and foil-inspired lip stain ahead of National Avocado Day.”

The partnership marks Wonderskin’s first major brand collaboration in its four-year history. The company has gained a large following on TikTok, including nearly 150,000 followers and 1.8 million likes.

"This partnership is a perfect blend of two trailblazing brands, both passionate about delivering top-notch, sought-after products as well as building loyal and robust communities. By merging Chipotle's bold, flavorful essence with Wonderskin's revolutionary beauty technology, we're creating a one-of-a-kind experience and product that will captivate and delight our customers like never before,” Wonderskin brand director Marina Kalenchyts said in a statement.

Notably, this isn’t Chipotle’s first cosmetics partnership. In 2021, the chain teamed up with e.l.f. to introduce four limited edition products, including an e.l.f. x Chipotle eyeshadow palette, “Make it Hot” lip gloss, “extra guac” face sponge set, and “eyes chips face” makeup bag.

Additionally, Chipotle is offering a free topping or side of guac with any entrée purchase on July 31 to celebrate National Avocado Day. The offering is available for rewards members using the promo code AVO2024.
