Fast-casual goes upscale at Texas dine-in and drive-thru concept

Becks Prime, an upscale fast-casual chain based in Houston, emphasizes the “prime” in its name.
The concept grinds its own certified Angus chuck for burgers on-premise and sears its ahi tuna, and then lets guests relax in the dining room or on outside decks or order at drive-thrus and take their food to go.
The company opened its 13th unit in the Dallas-Fort Worth market in July, and at least three more are planned for that area.
“It’s our first venture out of greater Houston, and it’s been very well received,” said Mike Knapp, chief operating officer and one of the concept’s founders, who noted that the chain’s growth would nonetheless remain slow and steady.
