Shake Shack leaders told investors how the brand is transitioning six months into a prolonged pandemic that has kept many of its most popular locations operating at a limited capacity. 

In particular, the brand’s stores in high-traffic locations such as Manhattan, Las Vegas and airports have been crushed by the lack of tourists and travelers. 

Traffic levels in New York, Manhattan particularly, are still shadows of their former self at this point in time,” Rik Powell, senior vice president of finance, said during the Goldman Sachs 27th Annual Global Retailing Conference.

Powell was part of a virtual fireside chat that included Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti and President/CFO Tara Comonte.
