Sweetgreen Inc. will officially open its first restaurant in Dallas on Tuesday, providing a look at what the newly public company will be offering customers.

The Los Angeles-based fast-casual concept, which started trading its initial public offering Thursday, opened the Dallas restaurant at about 3,200 square feet. It accommodates up to 32 indoor diners with additional seating for 26 on its outdoor patio.

Sweetgreen also has created a to-go area that allows a pass-through from the kitchen and is close to the side door of the restaurant, a location convenient for delivery drivers.

The location is in the pedestrian-friendly Uptown shopping district of West Village.

The company said Dallas customers can expect to see some locally sourced products including bread from Empire Baking Co., organic romaine from Fredericksburg Peach Co. and tomatoes from Village Harvest in Marfa, Texas.

“With each new market we enter, we become students to make sure that it’s a fit for both the locals who live there and our restaurants'' said Nicolas Jammet, Sweetgreen co-founder and chief concept officer, in a statement.

“Dallas felt like a natural next step for us,” Jammet said. “The community is active, it’s home to great music and arts, and of course, has a thriving culinary scene.”

The Dallas restaurant will feature an exclusive-to-Texas Garlic Chili Shrimp Bowl, which includes Cajun shrimp, warm wild rice, shredded kale and cabbage, red onions, raw carrots, apples, raw pecans, fresh herbs, a lime squeeze and nuoc cham dressing.

To celebrate the opening, Sweetgreen will offer free delivery — starting Jan. 3 and lasting two weeks — when guests order through the brand’s mobile app. The restaurant is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sweetgreen’s shares began trading last week on the New York Stock Exchange.

Sweetgreen, founded in 2007, has more than 140 restaurants in 13 states and the District of Columbia.
