ATLANTA Arby’s is getting ready to launch its own take on the hamburger with a new item called the Roastburger.

Calling it “the burger done better,” Arby’s is offering three varieties of the Roastburger, including the All-American, made with thinly sliced roast beef, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, ketchup, mustard and special sauce; the Bacon Cheddar, with roast beef, pepper bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and onion; and the Bacon & Bleu, with roast beef, pepper bacon, blue cheese spread, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Arby’s promotional efforts for the Roastburgers include TV spots, coupons and ads on the Facebook.com social-networking site. The Facebook promo features a countdown to March 1, when Arby’s presumably will roll out the Roastburgers systemwide.

Arby's did not immediately return calls for comment.

The 3,700-unit Arby’s sandwich chain is operated and franchised by Wendy’s/Arby’s Group Inc. of Atlanta.
