LOUISVILLE Ky. Long John Silver’s will introduce its latest menu item, the Baja Fish Taco, with a giveaway promotion in July.

Participating units of the 1,100-unit chain will offer a free Baja Fish Taco until 2:30 p.m. on July 14. The new menu item, which debuted June 22 and sells for 99 cents, consists of Long John Silver’s classic batter-dipped fish layered inside a soft flour tortilla mixed with "crunchy crumbles," lettuce and a special Baja sauce.

“Fish tacos, a long-time favorite recipe in coastal areas, are rapidly becoming a passion for the rest of the country,” said Ben Butler, president of Long John Silver’s. “We’re proud to be the first quick-service restaurant to spread this latest food craze across the nation and meet the needs of contemporary taste buds.”

Long John Silver's is a division of Louisville-based Yum! Brands Inc.
