DALLAS Pizza Hut has added lasagna to its line of delivered Tuscani Pastas, the chain said Tuesday.

The chain is accompanying the rollout with an advertising campaign based on Italians tasting the product in Italy. The lasagna is priced at $14.99, which is $2 more than the chicken, marinara and bacon-cheese pastas.

“Lasagna is America's most popular pasta dish, so it was a natural addition to our line of Tuscani Pastas,” said Scott Bergren, Pizza Hut’s president and chief concept officer. “Americans have eagerly embraced the concept of delivery pasta over the past year, catapulting Pizza Hut to become the undisputed category leader.”

Pizza Hut introduced the chicken and marinara pastas last April, and it added the bacon mac ‘n’ cheese version in September.

The lasagna features noodles, ricotta, parmesan and Romano cheeses, and an Italian-seasoned meat sauce. Pizza Hut said the 3 pounds of lasagna and five breadsticks feed about four people.

Pizza Hut, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands Inc. of Louisville, Ky., has 6,200 restaurants in the United States and more than 4,000 restaurants in 100 other nations.
