DALLAS To honor President Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday, Pizza Hut is allowing customers to put Abe’s best face forward with its new Penny Pizza Deal.

Starting Feb. 12, Lincoln's birthday, Pizza Hut will give customers a one-topping medium pizza for just one penny with purchase of a large pizza at menu price.

“A birthday celebration 200 years in the making deserves a momentous deal,” said Scott Bergren, Pizza Hut president. “Abe Lincoln is synonymous with the penny, so we thought offering a medium-one topping pizza for one cent was the perfect way to celebrate a great American.”

Acompany spokesman said the penny promotion is a limited-time offer, although no end date has been set.

Pizza Hut, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands Inc. of Louisville, Ky., more than 10,000 restaurants worldwide.
